Peonia
Nadine was for some years my favourite model - more than a model, my muse. She was only 17 the first time we worked together and in this series she is a mere 18. The project was designed in collaboration with Giorgio Bevignani and my wife Lucia.
Peonia - lesser Greek god and easer of pain, his magic so efficacious he made his master jealous, therefore to save him from his wrath Zeus turned him into one of the loveliest of flowers. Hymns in praise of him were sung to Apollo. In China the peony is the queen of medicinal remedies and was once the national flower. Nymphs are supposed to hide among his petals so the beautiful peony symbolises modesty.
