Val D'Orcia

This is one of the most photographed clump of trees in the world. It lies on the road from Siena to San Quirico d’Orcia. Cypress trees were often planted after the First World War as memorials to the fallen, one tree for one soldier; sad reminders to the conflict that still stand outside many a Tuscan town.
